Third evening at the Ariston in black and white. The yin and the yang are definitely the prevailing shades at this year’s Festival in the looks chosen by singers and guests. The trend is only dampened by a few injections of color, though always worn as a total look. Electric blue for Madame (Off-White) and LDA, the magenta suit worn by Lazza (Missoni), bright red for Article 31 (Iceberg) or the purple bondage look by Moschino worn by Rosa Chemical.

Supporting the trend was the third co-host of the event, women’s volleyball champion Paola Egonu. Paola wore Armani, with whom she already partners as the face of the EA7 sports line, making her entrance in a stunningly romantic one-shoulder, long white dress finished with rhinestones. A simple and stylish model with the added sparkle of jewelry by Pomellato.

Her second look swung to total black, with a suit by Emporio Armani, totally covered with ton-sur-ton sequins. The third look was again all black, with a long-sleeved velvet dress with a deep V neck.

The contestants who also opted for elegant black included Elodie, duo Coma_Cose (in Vivienne Westwood) and Paola and Chiara with identical lace dresses by Dolce & Gabbana.

Having gone short the previous evening in electric blue, Giorgia chose a long black velvet dress with choker neck, again by Dior.

Black velvet also for Sangiovanni. in Giorgio Armani. and Marco Mengoni in his - very well-received - leather co-ord by Versace and Levante, who wore Etro.

Back to total white instead for gIANMARIA. Finally, the two colors were also seen in combination. From the snakeskin lapels in the custom-made Gucci suits worn by Måneskin, to the separates - super-classic for Massimo Ranieri and decidedly futuristic for Sethu.
