The Gucci Twins
Last May, Alessandro Michele appeared on the red carpet of the Met Gala wearing actor Jared Leto’ identical outfit. The two happen to have very similar looks. In the last Gucci campaign, we saw the replica of a cult scene from Kubrick's Shining, including a set of perfectly coordinated twin girls. It is no mystery that the idea of the double and the identical but different twin is a theme dear to the creative director of the two interlocking Gs brand.
That said, it was amazing to see 34 sets of identical twins on the catwalk in Milan, 50 women and 18 men, wearing Gucci’s Spring/Summer creations. An immersive show and a surprise for lovers of Michele's creativity, once again amazing the audience with his universe of images mixing cinema, art, fashion, and advertising from the seventies to today. A fluid wardrobe with accessories featuring even the famous Gremlins of director Joe Dante. For the show, named Twinsburg, the sets of identical twins wore identical and double outfits.
Trousers held with suspenders for both him and her, prints of work tools, such as a wrench and a lipstick, hints of the Orient, glitter, and pleats. Innovative accessories sport jeweled eyewear and necklaces worn as dresses.
