Practicality and luxury, minimalism and maximalism, Karl and Kim. The Fendi Women Spring/Summer 2023 fashion show—designed by Kim Jones, Artistic Director of Women’s collections, and Silvia Venturini Fendi, Artistic Director of Accessories and Men’s fashion—shone the spotlight on Fendi’s history.

Starting from the work of Karl Lagerfeld, creative director of the Roman fashion house from 1996 to 2002, Kim proposed a contemporary look crowned with an archival floral print and a logo first presented in 2000 redesigned for today.

The dresses come in layers of floating technical organza or nylon jersey embellished with lacquered embroidery. Fitted cuts and elongated silhouettes crossed on the back. A harmonious neutral color palette is interrupted by pop color strokes like vibrant pink, cornflower blue, and bright green.

Organic textures of cashmere, fur, shearling, and leather materialize thanks to the know-how of expert hands and technical fabrics for a layered look. Elegant satin is hybridized with a mesh fabric and supported by lift sneakers or rubber platforms. Fendi First’s inverted F is embossed on the footwear to give an illusion effect, in homage to the instinctive union of form and function of the fashion house.

Finally, bags made in the same spirit of the collection, dualism between past and present, comfort and desire for unity; glossy leathers integrated with neutral canvases, bold shades printed on natural tones, some chained together, some just a pair held in one hand.
